He was one of America's favorite biblical creation teachers and lecturers – known for debating pro-evolution science professors in the nation's most prestigious secular colleges and universities.

So successful was his ministry, he built a dinosaur theme park in Florida, his videos of his presentations were a delight to thousands, he hosted a radio program and was in demand as a speaker 52 weeks a year.

But now Kent Hovind, known affectionately as "Dr. Dino," resides in a small federal prison cell in South Carolina – serving a 10-year sentence for failing to collect and pay withholding taxes, obstructing tax laws and other related charges. Paul Calls for an End to Withholding Taxes
Indiana Church is the Latest Victim of Outrageous Rules

Washington, D.C. - Congressman Ron Paul today urged his colleagues on Capitol Hill to abolish the IRS withholding rules, as a Baptist congregation in Indiana faces seizure of its church building for allegedly failing to participate in the withholding regime. Paul introduced the "Cost of Government Awareness Act" (HR 4855) earlier this year, which would eliminate the withholding tax deception and put an end to forced collection of income taxes by employers. Recent national news stories centering on the plight of the Indiana Baptist Temple have sparked renewed interest in Paul's legislation.

Paul Introduces Legislation to Abolish Withholding Taxes

Congressman Ron Paul agrees with the Commissioner- taxpayers do have a right to present their grievances to Congress. Paul also believes it is time for Congress to act on those grievances. Accordingly, he introduced legislation yesterday which would radically change the way income taxes are collected in this country. The "Cost of Government Awareness Act" (HR 1364) eliminates withholding tax laws, freeing employers from the burden of acting as unpaid tax collectors for the IRS. The Act restores to all Americans the right to collect their entire paycheck, determine their own tax liability, and pay their tax bill directly to the IRS.
